| Tafa is a female Ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) at the wild cat rescue center PROFELIS. She was rescued from a hotel in Costa Rica, where she was fed the wrong kind of food, leading to stunted, malformed bones. She is now in good health despite her bad bones, but she can never go back into the wild. Her smaller size and the fact that she remained quite tame after her rescue enable her to "work" in environmental education at Profelis to teach humans what happens if you take an animal out of the wild. |
